一，答题规则和题型的熟悉

新托福考试在题型方面做了全面的改革。以阅读为例，从答题操作方式来看就有点击选择、点击插入句子、或鼠标拖拽匹配分类等，从考点来看又有考察单词理解、句子理解和篇章结构理解等，每套阅读考题，各种题型都会交替出现。再比如新托福考试的口语部分，一共有6道考题，其中两道是“Independent Task”，四道是“Integrated Task”，在这四道“Integrated Task”中，又有两道是要求考生先听再说，而另两道则是要求考生先读再听再说。

再从答题时间方面看，新托福考试也有着严格的规定，例如写作部分的“integrated task”，考生有3分钟时间先读一段文字，然后有大约2分钟听一段话，然后有20分钟时间写一篇文章。口语部分的每一道题目都有时间限制，准备时间从15秒到30秒不等，答题时间从45秒到60秒不等。

考生一定要在考前对新托福考试的考题和答题规则非常熟悉，平时就按照考试要求的时间规定去练习，这样在真实的考场上，才能把握好节奏，分配好时间，避免阅读来不及做，口语“抢说”，或者写作写不完等情况。

二，口语和写作的个性化指导

一个行之有效的方法就是进行口语和写作的个性化指导。在一些小班化的新托福课堂中，教师可以和每一个学生进行一对一的口语对话，然后提出问题所在并给出针对性的建议。写作课上，老师也会布置作业，然后在课后为学生批改。考生一定要把握住这样的机会，积极操练，并且一定要把自己常见的错误，进行定期的整理总结，在考试时尽量避免犯同样的错误，这就是一种进步，这种进步比自己漫无目的的看语法书或到外语角去练习口语要有效的多。

三，听力和阅读高频词汇的积累

单词量对于任何外语考试都非常重要，在新托福考试中，考试形式虽然发生了一定的变化，但是对词汇量的要求却没有减少。很多考生会选择在备考的第一天买一本厚厚的单词书，定好计划，然后从A背到Z。但据笔者的经验，大多数考生坚持不到一个月就放弃了，效果也不是很理想。
